Flying back to Sweden tonight ✈️ (āļ„ืāļ™āļ™ี้āļšิāļ™āļāļĨัāļšāļŠāļ§ีāđ€āļ”āļ™āđāļĨ้āļ§ ✈️)

Flying back to Sweden tonight ✈️

My flight’s at midnight, so before heading to the airport, my aunt and uncle cooked dinner for me , it was so good. Nothing fancy, just real comfort food. We had Hainanese chicken rice and chicken soup with pickled lime (Gai Tom Manow Dong) — sounds simple, but the taste was amazing.

And for dessert, sticky rice with longan and coconut cream. I tried it for the first time today, and seriously… it’s such a treat. So rich and creamy — I couldn’t stop eating it. My aunt and uncle love cooking, and they always make such good food. It just felt really nice to sit down and eat together before flying back.

I also got to see my grandma, which made me so happy. We chatted in Mandarin, and she even taught me a few new words in Chao Zhou. Hopefully next time when I’m back in Thailand, I’ll have more time to learn from her — and of course, eat more delicious food too hehe 😋

Got into BKK early this morning. Slept the whole way on the plane, so the flight felt like it lasted five minutes. The weather was a bit cloudy today – you could barely see the blue sky behind.

After landing and getting home, I spent a little while greeting granny and catching up before settling in.

In the afternoon my uncle and aunt took me round the fresh market near their place to get food for dinner. Loads of variety there – piles of veg, fresh meat, even a section with ready-to-eat dishes. What I noticed most was how clean it was compared to Hat Yai. No wet floors, and not boiling hot either since it’s all under a roof.

For dinner my aunt made American Fried Rice – which, funny enough, is only a thing in Thailand, not America. So tasty. I was done for after that, ended up passing out around eight.

Thank you for today kha.
